A todos los participantes,

A nombre del grupo SAE Bajío les agradezco su presencia en la carrera Baja SAE Bajío 2009, sabemos el reto que implica competir en un evento donde se ponen a prueba de forma integral las habilidades ingenieriles y de trabajo en equipo.

Estamos convencidos de que el evento reunió a estudiantes universitarios que tienen un gran espíritu de competencia leal, sed de aprendizaje, preocupación por el progreso de la ingeniería nacional y, sobre todo, que saben que su participación los prepara como ingenieros y seres humanos éticos y responsables.

El esfuerzo, sacrificio y dedicación que pusieron en presentaciones, reportes y prototipos son cualidades en extremo loables que no pasaran desapercibidas en ningún ámbito de sus vidas. El éxito profesional está ligado a la capacidad de hacer del quehacer común un arte, y rememoren: “no hay arte sin disciplina, ni disciplina sin sacrificio”.

Con eso en mente, su partición en si excede positivamente por mucho la relación costo-beneficio que BAJA SAE supone. Si en algún evento de la competencia fallaron, no hay nada perdido. Al contrario, las mejores oportunidades de mejora ocurren luego de la derrota: investiguen cómo mejorar el evento en cuestión, planeen y trabajen duro por cumplir su objetivo. Los organizadores y comité de evaluación de la competencia estamos en la mejor disposición de retroalimentar y apoyar a los equipos para la mejora de sus proyectos.

Es un placer trabajar con gente comprometida, que busca el bien común, el crecimiento de la educación en nuestro país y que tienen un alto sentido de profesionalismo.

También quiero agradecer a las personas que se solidarizaron al esfuerzo como voluntarios, jueces, conferencistas y patrocinadores. Su voluntad se vio reflejada en la carrera y su compromiso quedará grabado en el desarrollo de la educación en nuestro país.

Quisiera agradecer también a los Faculty Advisors, su participación es de suma importancia para el desarrollo de los estudiantes, los exhorto a que dentro de los límites que el reglamento marca para ustedes, sigan empujando a sus equipos y asegurándose que exista una mejora año con año. Les recomiendo ampliamente no escatimar en ayuda para que los alumnos cumplan con el reglamento así como con las normas de seguridad que el evento requiere.

Estamos conscientes de que la competencia tiene muchas áreas de oportunidad, por lo cual, recibiremos con mucho gusto todos sus comentarios y los tomaremos con toda seriedad y profesionalismo para mejorar el evento del año siguiente. El medio para hacerlos llegar es bajasae@saebajio.org

Eligibility

12.1 Eligibility is limited to undergraduate and graduate students to ensure this is an engineering competition rather than a race. Individual members of teams participating in this competition must satisfy the following requirements:

12.1.1 Student Status.
Team members must be enrolled as a degree seeking undergraduate or graduate student in a college or university. Team members who have graduated during the last seven (7) month period prior to the competition remain eligible to participate.

12.1.2 Society Membership Team members must be members of at least one of the following societies: (1) SAE or an SAE affiliate society, (2) ATA, or (3) IMechE. Proof of membership, such as a membership card, is required at the event.


12.1.3 Age Team members must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Liability Waiver

All on-site participants and faculty are required to sign a liability waiver upon registering on-site.
All participants are required to provide a photocopy of an official id (IFE, passport, etc.) to be attached to the liability waiver.

Teams,

According to the published BAJA SAE BAJIO Rules, the following documentation must be provided at the registration table:
1) Medical insurance (provider, policy/ID number, telephone number)
2) Driver’s license (state/country, ID number)**Drivers only**
3) Emergency contact data (point of contact (parent/guardian, spouse), relationship, and phone number)

Additionally, the following documentation must be brought in order to participate in the competition events:
(a) Frame Material Documentation: Receipts documenting the materials purchased, or otherwise acquired, and used to build the frame.
(b) Roll Cage Specification Sheet: A completed copy of the Roll Cage Specification Sheet (See Section 6 Appendix)
(c) Technical Inspection Sheet: A properly completed Technical Inspection Sheet (See 50.1.2, presenting Inspection Sheets that are: incomplete, inaccurate, with 4 non-compliance items or do not represent a serious effort to pass Technical Inspection will be sanctioned strictly by the Technical Inspectors)
(d) Drivetrain Check Sheet: A properly completed Drivetrain Check Sheet is required at technical inspection(within Technical Inspection sheet).
(e) Printed copy of design report (recommended)
(f) Printed copy of your cost report

Remember that each car must present:
1) Two fire extinguishers
2) One 20 liter gasoline can.

Absence of any of the listed items will be sanctioned according to the BAJA SAE BAJIO Rules and/or at discretion of the BAJA SAE BAJIO organizers.

For those teams whose marketing presentation gets schedule for Friday's morning, you'll will be informed this weekend by email so you take proper actions.






Remember that if your team didn't send the design reports, you might not be allowed to be part of the design evaluation (therefore you're score will be 0 points for the entire design event). This decision belongs only to the RULES COMMITTEE.

Estimados participantes,

Dado el número de universidades pre-registradas, el Comité Organizador de la Carrera Baja SAE Bajío 2009 tomará la siguiente disposición:

  • Si para el 15 de Febrero del 2009, fecha límite de la recepción de reportes de diseño y costo, al menos 10 universidades no se encuentran REGISTRADAS (es decir, se haya enviado la documentación y hecho el depósito correspondiente), la carrera será reagendada.

Esta medida se tomó en el ánimo de ofrecer un evento valioso para todos los estudiantes participantes en estas series.
